THE COMIC PRICE GUIDE FOR GREAT BRITAIN 1 (A-B)

The Comic Price Guide for Great Britain is coming in July 2010. Thousands of titles and tens of thousands of prices will feature along with grading guides and, eventually, thousands of illustrations from my own personal collection. You'll access the best guide to British comics and other collectible titles like Tin Tin, Asterix and Australian reprints. Plus Marvel and DC Silver Age pence copies. The work-in-progress Guide is currently 1200 pages and growing! There's 20 sample pages here. If you don't see what you are looking for in this sample, e-mail me and I will try to help.Values listed below can only be based on accurate grading! Most British comics on E Bay are in the Poor, Fair, Good and Very Good range. Fine is a nice comic with little handling wear. Very Fine is an exceptionally nice comic and Near Mint is nearly flawless. Phrases like "It's very good for its age" and "It would be mint if it had the covers on" are meaningless. Apologies that the system won't accept my neat tabulation so columns are a bit out of line.If you find all these first 20 guides vaguely useful or interesting, do tell me. And do vote for it. If you don't see the comic you're after, be patient! Everything will be listed eventually! Do e-mail me any comments and corrections. Feel free to ask for a valuation on high grade, rare or first/key issues. I also buy.PLEASE NOTE: All the information is taken from The Comic Book Price Guide for Great Britain Volumes #1-8 by Duncan McAlpine. All information is copyright Price Guide Productions 1989-1997. Copyright renewed 2007. All illustrations are copyright their respective publishers. This is a guide only, based on 40 years of collecting, reading and research. This is an on-going sample that I will change from time to time. At the end of the day it's all a personal opinion. The main thing is to enjoy the E Bay community and have fun with comics.

For other issues and information for all titles only sampled here -watch out for thecomplete On Line Guide, coming soon!

ACTION. IPC. 14th Feb 1976-16th Oct 1976. 36 un-numbered issues; 23rd Oct 1976 (not distributed)This short-lived title achieved national notoriety when it was banned for too much violence and blood in the comic, particularly the Hook Jaw strip based on Steven Spielberg's Jaws. More mature stories with a decidedly anti-authoritarian streak. The last issue of this first series dated 23rd Oct was withdrawn from sale and is rare. The free gift Red Arrow Plane is fairly common though the rubber band is often perished and will snap if stretched. Adds approximately 5-10 or so value. The Hook-Jaw transfer from issue #2 is scarcer. Can't believe that issue #3 with the 16 free Soccer Cards has sold (Nov 2007) for 91.50.
